Kappa and Its Iconic "Omini” Logo
Born in Italy in 1967, Kappa is one of the most recognised sportswear brands on the market, having played a part in football, Brit Pop and more subcultures since its inception.
Kappa become the go-to label in the 90s and early 00s when the brands "Omini" logo, the back to back naked man and women silhouette, was distinctively seen on taping down sleeves on legs on their tracksuits.
The likes of Blur's Damon Albarn were amongst the high-profile celebrities to be keen fans of the Robe di Kappa movement in the 90s. This was followed by sponsorships with internationally recognised football clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Manchester City, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, and more around the same era.
